Like a Glass of Sweet Iced Tea

I had a trial yesterday up the road a bit in sweet, sleepy Somerville, Tennessee. Visiting this lovely town was like stepping into the past. This town is so charming and southern, like a glass of sweet iced tea.

Just look at the elementary school. Isn't it adorable?

The houses are old and stately. Swoon...
I mean, really.

(If you're wondering, yes. I got out of my car to take a picture of this amazing house). And look at the courthouse. Doesn't it make you want to be a lawyer? (Me either).

But seriously, doesn't it look like Atticus Finch himself might walk right out of the front doors?
This town has an actual farm, right on the Highway. It's like another world that exists just 45 minutes up the road.
Gorgeous.
Look how close they were!
This house is the most swoon-worthy of them all, but I couldn't get a great picture without getting run over by the traffic of the divided highway!
I love how you can see it peeking out from behind the trees.
It is gorgeous.

And of course, I couldn't pass up the John Deere tractor headquarters. Really.

I'm not sure I'm cut out for small town life, but I will say that my quick trip to the country was a tempting experience. It is such an adorably charming place. It reminds me of another place that is near and dear to my heart.

Have a good weekend!

Brought to you by April Showers

After two days of totally crap weather, huddling in closets and hallways with flashlights and pillows, and a stress-filled workweek that is still not quite over, I needed to see something beautiful to remind me to take time to enjoy life. (I had plenty of time to enjoy the drive home as my normally 25 minute drive took over an hour today).

I saw this on the way home today. Beautiful.

The pictures are okay, but it was truly amazing in person. I could've gotten better pictures if I had a fancy camera (I don't), or if I stopped the car (I didn't) or even slowed down (nope), but I hope you all enjoy the bit of beauty I found on my way home today.

Easter Basket(case)

I wanted to take some pictures of C$ on Sunday to document his first Easter and his super cute Easter outfit. C$ was not interested in my attempts to document this day in his life.

See?
"No means no, mom."
Sigh...
At least you can see how cute his outfit was. I mean, Sperry Topsiders for babies? Yes please.
C-Note remained uninterested in my photo sessions all day. Look at how cute all the kiddos looked, though, in their coordinating outfits!

Emerson wasn't really interested in the photo session either.
Gracie tried to coax C into a cute pic. Fail.
Emerson tried to kiss a cute picture out of him...this one turned out to be the cutest one all day.
She was proud of her efforts.
C says his cousins are too loud for him. Party pooper :)
E showed C just how loud she can be.

Crybaby.
Aww, the girls really tried to make C smile, but he was ILL.
Emerson had enough of C's whining and told him so. Look at that finger! Ha.

Kiss and make up.
One last crummy picture for the day. Yikes.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

Monday's Revenge

You may remember, I got one over on Monday recently. Today, she came back to claim her spot as champion of evil. I got up early to get myself and C$ ready because I had court this morning. Court on a Monday morning is not exactly my idea of a good start to a week. Turns out, court was the least of my worries.

When I dropped CB off at the babysitter's house, we noticed that my tire was flat. Fantastico.

Luckily, I was able to quickly swap cars with my father-in-law and I was able to make it to court on time. On the way to court, however, the bottom dropped out of the sky. It was absolutely pouring down rain. I was in a suit and heels, and my umbrella was in my car (in my in laws' driveway). Profanities were uttered.

After court, I found out that they were unable to repair my tire. Awesome. I needed a new tire.

That's not true. I needed two new tires. Apparently, with whatever kind of tires I have, you replace them two at a time, or some nonsense moneymaking scheme like that. Monday reigns supreme again.

Oh, and by the way, to the person who decided to Clampett their furniture onto the back of his car, and then drive in the left hand lane of I-40 from Jackson to Memphis on Sunday, you are a jackass. Your piece of crap furniture falling off your truck nearly caused a 4 car collision and cost me $420 in new tires because we ran over that shiz going about 70 miles an hour. Ass.

Giving Props

I have mentioned my puppy Berry many times on my blog. I've mentioned the fact that she is a puppy, and that she drives me (and Buster) bonkers, I rarely ever give her the props she deserves.

She is awesome with C-Bizz. He climbs all over her and she does nothing.

He pulls her hair and she just takes it.
Rib punches don't affect her love for CB.
She thinks he is just as cute as we do.
How could she not?
C-Note loves his Berry. He lights up when she is around.
And he is sad when she is outside and cannot play with him.
"MOM, I want to go outside with Berry. You are lame."

"Just kidding, Mom. You're not THAT lame."
I've actually come to rely on Berry quite a bit because my sweet baby is a wild man and she is super protective of him. (Note the crazed look in his eyes).
I'll need all the help I can get! (At least he's climbing the shelves for books:)

It's strangely quiet and I can't see Berry or Carter (even though the entire room is fenced in) so I'd better go see what they're up to...

Goodnight!
