Another Mama Masterpiece

Last night, I made some of Mama Pea's chewy bars for Billbo to take for breakfast and for breakfast on the go when I am in a hurry. Umm..YUMMO.

I had all of the ingredients at my house (miracle) and they were so easy to make.

Delicious and healthy ingredients

Sweet and salty

Delivered just as MP promised

They turned out just a little bit crumbly, but I think that is because I don't have a grinder for the flax seeds and had to improvise with a plastic baggie and a hammer for my "ground flax seeds." Seriously.

Don't you wish you had that for breakfast? You do.

While I was Out

As all of my multitudes of faithful readers know, I went to Destin, Florida this past weekend with my mom and my sister. My mom won a $1,000 shopping spree at one of the outlet malls down there and Billbo's family has a condo we mooched borrowed, so we left the kiddos and headed south to the beach!

It was a little foggy, but we vampires don't need much sun anyway. We saw lots of wildlife--mainly the millions of cows we saw in southern Alabama on the way back home--but also lots of dolphins! If you look closely, you can see a couple in the pictures below, but there were actually 5-7 of them in the shallow water just seconds before I was able to get my camera out!

The kiddos got lots of cute clothes from the shopping spree, including SUPER cute coordinating (not matching) Easter outfits. Our kids are WAY cooler than we are.

I missed my little C-Money like crazy, but he and Daddy-O made it through the weekend with the help of babysitters without me. Just kidding...B did a great job.

C rudely grew about a foot and got four new teeth while I was away. Okay...the growth part is an exaggeration, but the teeth part is not. Seriously. Four new teeth. I was hurt shocked devastated surprised that he changed so much while I was away!

Some things have not changed, though.

He still loves danger, and now that he is crawling all over the place, he can get into even more of it!

Pulling up on the outlet seems safe...
There, got it out. (Note: I was right next to him, so please refrain from calling DCS).

Mommy's little rebel.

Oh good...he's pulling up, too, and reaching for Daddy's computer.

And chewing on EVERYTHING to help push those teeth through.

It's good to be home. I can't wait to take C-Money and Billbo to the beach this summer! It will be so much fun with my two favorite men!

Yesterday, I headed back to the real world...gross. I went to a CLE (continuing legal education class) and ended up there alone after my co-workers backed out. I guess my mom's good luck rubbed off on me, though, because they drew names at the end of the class to determine the winner of a new iPad 2 and they drew my name! I won an iPad 2!! WINNING. Monday 100000000, Holly 1. Take that, Monday.

Happy Hour

We've had a tradition of happy hour for several years now with my family. When it started, my sister (and brother when he was in town) and I would head over to my parents' house on Friday afternoons for drinks and weekly work stories before heading out for the night. Sometimes, dinner was included, but mostly we had a drink or two and chit chatted before heading our separate ways.

Since my sister and I have had children, however, happy hour has changed a bit.

First, we've added a few participants. Second, happy hour is no longer our first stop. It is usually our only stop. We've realized that Grumpy and Geeze cannot say no to these faces, so dinner happens more often than not. Score for the free dinners.

We still have drinks, but they are not the same.

The most important thing about our happy hour remains. The hour is still happy (even more so, I think).

E agrees :)

The Most Magical Place on Earth

As children, we all had places we felt were special, even magical, that will forever hold places in our hearts. Mine is my grandparents' house in Greenfield, Tennessee. My grandfather, Daddy Judge, still lives in this gorgeous, big, old house and I love everything about it. We went there this weekend so that the youngest generation could enjoy the wonders of Daddy Judge's house.

Awesome hiding places...
Books galore

Cool and unique furniture

Old keepsakes...
(This is my great-grandmother's college diploma. I swear, it looks like it was printed on fabric. It's from 1907!)Amazingly detailed architecture...
But the most magical thing about Daddy Judge's house is the LOVE.

It's a place where wonders never cease...

And the memories will last a lifetime

And so will the love.
